[Read] 2021 MLB All-Star Break

As Major League Baseball wraps up it’s Home Run Derby and All-Star Game this week, check out where KPF’s Major League and Minor League athletes sit at the break.

Major League

Daniel Bard - Colorado Rockies

The All-Star festivities were hosted in Bard’s home ball park of the Colorado Rockies. While the team is sitting at a record of 7-16 at the break, The 2020 MLB Comeback Player of the Year Winner sits with 4 wins, 5 losses and an ERA of 4.06. With 37.2 innings pitched he has 49 strike outs.

Mike Freeman - Cincinnati Reds

Mike entered Spring Training with his club of 2020 in the Cleveland Indians. Shortly after he was traded to the Reds and began the season in their Triple A affiliate. As planned and expected, Mike was called up to the Majors and in 42 at bats he has and average of .214, 3 RBIs and 1 stolen base.

David Hess - Miami Marlins

During the off-season the “Hess Express” was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays after their 2020 World Series effort. He began the season in their Triple A affiliate. A few weeks before the break, David was traded to the Miami Marlins and found himself pitching in the Majors again. Since joining the Marlins Hess has 2 wins with 0 losses and an ERA of 4.5. He has pitched 4 complete innings and has 2 strikeouts.

Minor League

Cory Thompson - St. Louis Cardinals - Peoria Chiefs - High A

Cory spent the 2020 season as a free agent having spent his entire career as a Cincinnati Red. With the Minor Leagues not having a season due to the pandemic, he was able to focus on training. Just after the start of the 2021 MiLB season he was picked up by the St. Louis Cardinals organization as a right handed pitcher.

Cory currently has an ERA of 2.57 in 14 innings with 22 strikeouts.

Thomas Jones - Miami Marlins - Beloit Snappers - High A

Thomas if off to a great start with 200 at bats, hitting .220, 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 stolen bases.

Graham Lawson - Chicago Cubs - South Bend Cubs - High A

In Graham’s first year as a pro the pitcher has an ERA of 2.00, with 18 innings pitched and 15 strikeouts.

John Parke - Chicago White Sox - Birmingham Barrons - Double A

John is currently sitting with an ERA of 4.88 in 48 innings pitched with 42 strikeouts.

Justin Dean - Atlanta Braves - Mississippi Braves - Double A

Justin was invited to his first Major League Spring Training in 2021 as a result of his stellar 2019 season. After breaking Spring Training hew as assigned to the Braves Double A affiliate. He currently has a batting average of .254 with 197 at bats, 3 home runs, 26 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.
