3 Ways to Bounce Back After the Holidays
The US Holiday season is a wonderful time of year! Along with all the joyus fun that is had, routines tend to fall apart.
Kids are out of school. Family is in town. Parties are happening. Vacation.
It’s important to realize that all of this is great. A break is much needed. So, what happens when it all goes back to normal and we have to “bounce back” and “get back in the routine”?
Here are a few simple ways to make it happen.
Tell someone your plans: By doing this you create an accoutability partner. They become invested in your success. While they may not check in every day, they will ask you how its going and you will have to answer. Will it be with disappointment or pride?
Don’t try to start where you left off: The mind and the body can operate on two different wavelengths sometimes. When we start back into a fitness routine we think we can go as hard as we did before. Our bodies will quickly remind us that we can’t do that. So, plan to start back with a few less days and build into your former flow.
Find a reason: It was easy to find a reason to NOT workout during the holidays, now switch your mindset and find a reason TO workout. Sort of like the thinking of “I get to vs I have to”.
